“Intuitive guidance means having the self-esteem to recognize that the discomfort or confusion that a person feels is actually directing him to take charge of his life and make choices that will break him out of stagnation or misery. And, while we measure our own success in terms of our personal comfort and security, the universe measures our success by how much we have learned.”
- Caroline Myss
“When you’re Happy for No Reason, you bring happiness to your outer experiences rather than trying to extract happiness from them. You don’t need to manipulate the world around you to try to make yourself happy. You live from happiness, rather than for happiness.”
- Marci Shimoff
“My first word of advice is this, Say yes. In fact, say yes as often as you can. Saying yes begins things. Saying yes is how things grow. Saying yes leads to new experiences, and new experiences will lead to knowledge and wisdom. Yes is for young people, and an attitude of yes is how you will be able to go forward in these uncertain times.”
- Michael Hogan
“You can be mad as a mad dog at the way things went, You can swear and curse the fates, but when it comes to the end, you have to let go.”
“It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit – start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it, I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that stop you, I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before, I hope you meet people with a different point of view, I hope you live a life you’re proud of – and if you find that you’re not I hope you have the strength to start all over again. ”
- Both quotes were said by Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button from “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” written by Eric Roth based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald
In the next few months, there are going to be a lot of changes. The hardest part is not knowing where life will lead. Life’s balance is in the hands of the Universe and I have to remind myself to trust that everything is happening in divine timing.
It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. – Alan Cohen
Well it’s obvious that I have been running. Running a lot! I keep getting asked what crazy pill I ingested when I decided to run 5 races in 4 weeks! To be honest, I’m beginning to wonder myself.
I have had the Twilight 12k (last week), the Run for Women (yesterday – 5 miles), a 5K (today), the Why Not Tri (my FIRST TRIATHLON – next week – so nervous – what was I thinking?) and the grand finale being the Mayors Half-Marathon on June 23rd! I am really going to need that trip to Denver after all of these!
I’m halfway through, but this next couple weeks are going to be intense! Training for these races is a huge commitment – mentally and physically. I’m glad that I am doing them, but I have learned my lesson in having them back to back.
Thats all the time I have. Back to training!
Here are some of the photos from the last few weeks of races.
Happy National Running Day! Although the rain is pouring today and I don’t know if I’ll be able to get to run outside today, it is still a day I am able to appreciate all the things that running has given me. Over this last year I have fallen in love with running. It’s my meditation. No matter how bad a day is, a nice run is all I need to feel better.
Here is to many more times on the pavement!
“A run begins the moment you forget you are running.”
“And think not you can
Direct the course of love,
If it finds you worthy,
Directs your course.”
- Khalil Gibran
This album, by far, is one of my favorite albums! I fall in love with it again and again with each listen. It was my favorite show of Coachella and I cannot wait to see them live again.
If you get a chance, go see then! I promise you won’t be disappointed!
